Meet Danner Taylor, a 27 year old student, entrepreneur, and winner of the 2021 Cayman Enterprise Business Design Competition. Danner leads an extremely busy life consisting of a full-time job, completing a Master’s degree in Finance, all the while studying at the Cayman Code Academy, and running new company BizHub with his two business partners.

Having been born and raised in Cayman, Marissa Harrison moved to California when she was nine, and started playing beach volleyball which brought her home to Cayman to play for the Cayman Islands Beach Volleyball National Team. Through CEC, Marissa was able to get work experience in a particularly unique field this summer with West Coast Solutions, as an Aerospace Engineer.

Three years ago, we shared the serendipitous story that catapulted 24-year-old Caymanian Computer Science major Jamal Clarke from Bodden Town, Grand Cayman into an exciting new direction. Serendipity stepped in one summer when Jack Copper, engineer and founder of NeuralStudio SEZC, needed help fixing his island Jeep. It was at Jamal’s father’s workshop that Jack first met Jamal and was so impressed with him, that he invited him to join NeuralStudio through the Enterprise Cayman internship programme with Cayman Enterprise City (CEC).

Cayman Enterprise City’s Enterprise Cayman initiative has recently announced that the Cayman Islands Business Design Competition is now open for submissions. Unbelievable show of attendance took place on Friday 8th of February as the Chamber of Commerce’s held their annual Career, Education & Training Expo. Over 800 students from both public and private schools partook in the job fair that was held at the University College of the Cayman Islands.

Cayman Enterprise City’s Enterprise Cayman initiative is now accepting applications for its annual “Summer in the City” internship programme. Now in its sixth year the programme aims to place 20+ young people with internship opportunities throughout Cayman Enterprise City (CEC) and the special economic zones (SEZs), which include: Cayman Tech City, Cayman Commodities & Derivatives City, and Cayman Maritime & Aviation City.
