Tech Enthusiasts Invited to Build Innovative Solutions for Social Good.
Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands (31 March 2025) – The Cayman Islands Computer Science Society (CICSS) has announced their upcoming Hackathon, taking place on Saturday, 10 May 2025 at Cayman Enterprise City’s (CEC’s) Signal House facilities from 8:30am to 5:30pm. This dynamic, hands-on event invites participants at all skill levels to collaborate, innovate, and develop technology-driven solutions that create a positive impact in the Cayman Islands.
With a focus on hacking for social good, the hackathon challenges teams to brainstorm and build projects that address real community challenges. Participants will compete in teams of 2-5 people for a chance to win a cash prize of USD $2,000. The hackathon is completely free to attend, and refreshments will be provided throughout the day. Teams will be formed on the day of the event. Participants must bring their own working computer and charger to take part.
“Technology has the power to drive change, and this hackathon is an opportunity for innovators, problem solvers, and creatives to come together and create solutions that make a difference,” said Bayo Sodimu, Committee Member of CICSS, Blockchain Developer, Engineering Lead, and Career Coach. “We’re excited to see the meaningful ideas and solutions that emerge.”
To help participants prepare, CICSS is offering a series of free pre-hackathon training sessions covering topics such as artificial intelligence, no-code development, and app building. These sessions, led by industry experts, will provide valuable insights and strategies to help individuals refine their ideas and increase their chances of success.
